About Me
Education and Professional Memberships
I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. I also graduated with a Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a Levine Scholar.
I have completed additional clinical trainings, including the introductory training for Internal Family Systems Therapy, a five day intensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), EMDR Therapy Protocols for Early Intervention and Ongoing Traumatic Stress, the foundational training for TraumaPlay, and Level One of Theraplay Attachment-Based Play Therapy training. My continuing education has centered around processing traumatic experiences across the lifespan and working with children, teens, and parents, which I have found to be both meaningful and effective.
I am an active member of the Association for Play Therapists (APT).
Outside the Office
I am a firm believer that delight plays an integral part in our healing. For me, that means I take time to genuinely get to know and enjoy my clients. I also believe that I have the best job in the world!
Outside of the office, you may find me painting colorful paintings, laughing with my family and friends, or spending time in the sunshine. I organize my books by color and prefer my chai tea hot (only and always, even in July!).
